possible famous ice skater from Norway - but love the lightness of this sculpture |
OK - so here are some of the pics I took at the sculpture park in Oslo - no!!! they are not erotica, but capture all the human emotions - which does include love!!! and anger - in hundreds of different sculptures.

swimming pool for black-backed seagulls |
|
Yes - Maggie and me agree that the central 14m sculpture is a tad phallic - well the designer was a man.... |
But generally, the sculptures are truly not erotica - they really do capture human life and there were some angry ones in amongst the carefree, light-hearted and loving ones. biggest problem is to get photos without someone posing or climbing up over the sculptures - weekends in this weather, I imagine it will be packed!
I was a tad nervous with those black clouds looming every closer and knowing that I had to find my way back to the hotel. After last night's close-by thunderstorm, I didn't want to be out in this one - but it faded away and was never seen or heard!

yep! letting one's hair down and dancing - nice! |
http://www.a-trip.com/tracks/view/155390 ... hahahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. That's some snail trail. Hehheheheeeeeeeeee, ahhh how I laugh!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics - already a world away from rural Russia. The buildings are more aesthetic and don't have that vibe of neglect and dejection. Call me crazy, but that is the sense I get from the photos.
ReplyDeleteThe water squiggles in the fountain photo are particularly arty - gorgeous photo.
I do call you crazy!!! but in this instance you are so right! everything is well maintained and one doesn't feel that it could all come tumbling down. but then Norway is a very rich country - no struggle street here - tho I have seen some drunks - maybe homeless, some beggars and also this end of town seems to populated with a lot of migrants from Africa and Middle East. At least some countries are pulling their weight in the refugee stakes - unlike Australia!!! Oops! no more political statements!
Delete... okay, my 'naughty radar' must have been disengaged. But are those last few photos of public sculptures as phallic and as ' "friendly" ' as they appear? From the piccies here, they appear to be illustrating Kama Sutra II ...
ReplyDeletesee update!!! here's a link with some info: http://www.visitnorway.com/en/where-to-go/east/oslo/what-to-do-in-oslo/attractions-in-oslo/vigelandsparken-sculpture-park/
