off to the beautiful Lake Tullah

Back onto the road again…  how many hills today?  Toooo many!!  Was surprised how quickly it was to get back onto the main road - but turning southwards away we went - up and down…  but more ups (as was expected) till eventually I hit the highest point on the Murchinson Highway 690m…  but that didn't mean it would just sweep all the way down….  No way!  Just up and down and more up and down…
At first the countryside was like Cradle Mountain - button grass and small weathered trees.  But once over the highest point and down the other side, the trees became taller and the undergrowth thicker with ferns, which reminded me of the west coast of NZ.
I just plugged along - cool misty weather and the ups and downs continued…  but eventually I was entering Tullah and right from the start I really liked it.  Surrounded by huge mountains, the Murchison range a block of rock to the North east and another mountain guarding the south - with Lake Tullah in the cradle.  And the Lakeside Lodge was right on the water's edge.
So I signed in and headed off to my very comfy room - noticing the laundry sign along the way.  There was only a small window (1hr in fact) to order food at the bar, so a quick shower - dash to the laundry with all my smelly clothes and back to the bar…  and success - Veggie frittata with more vegies on the side and a James Boag beer and I was set!
By then the washing had finished, so I tossed them into the dryer and back to my room to download all my photos, check emails because YES they have wifi!!  Once the clothes were dry, I hit the sack…

I am sooooo hoping that I get into some flat country because I am tired of hills already!!!  Yoikes!!
